If your horse develops a
serious case of colic, the only option for saving it may
be surgery—an expensive proposition and one you'll have to
decide on quickly. Ridgeveiw Veterinary Practice can help
make that decision easier. In partnership with Pfizer Animal
Health, Ridgeview offers the PreventiCare Program for equine wellness featuring the first-ever Colic Assistance
Plan.
PreventiCare features a six-point
equine preventive-care program, which includes an annual
physical exam, an annual dental exam and care, appropriate
immunizations, daily parasite prevention, twice-yearly
deworming and nutritional counseling. Under the plan, if
an enrolled horse develops colic and needs surgery, Pfizer
will cover the cost of surgery and three days of aftercare,
up to $5,000.
Your cost for the program is limited
to the purchase of the Strongid C or Strongid C 2X from
Ridgeview Veterinary Practice. Strongid C is fed daily
to your horse to prevent internal parasites.
For more information, or to enroll your
horse in the PreventiCare program, contact Ridgeview.
"It was comforting to me to have this added
funding, on top of my original insurance, because the vet
bills got to be really high—in excess of $13,000 for two
colic surgeries and care. In the end, I wound up paying
little out of pocket."
